IF YOU HAVE LARGE BREASTS, you know how uncomfortable they can be. Bra straps leave indentations on your shoulders; your back and neck hurt; you may have breathing issues. You may feel self-conscious.
If your breasts cause you physical discomfort, this procedure can provide some relief and give you smaller, better shaped, and more proportional breasts.
Surgery and recovery
This procedure removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter, and firmer. It also reduces the size of the areola, or dark skin, surrounding the nipple.
This procedure leaves noticeable, permanent scars, but they are covered by your bra or bathing suit.
This surgery is performed under general anesthesia, usually on an outpatient basis. After two weeks the stitches are removed, and most women return to work at that time.
